Lock down the perimeter.

Fewer gates means fewer problems. Lock what you don’t use and make sure the main gate is watched by a person or a camera. Walk the fence every few days; gaps open fast on an active site.

Log everyone in.

A gate officer checking in subs and deliveries gives you a list of everyone who came through the gate, with times, and tells people with no business there to keep moving. Keep the log with your daily reports.

Make it hard to steal.

Copper, wire, tools, fixtures and fuel go first. Lock small stuff in containers, time deliveries close to install and keep pricey equipment in view of the gate or a camera. Lighting on laydown areas is cheap and works.

Cover nights and weekends.

That’s when sites get hit. Night guards for high-value phases, random patrol for quieter stretches, camera monitoring for the whole site with patrol sent when something moves.

Most jobs use a mix that changes by phase, month to month, ending when the job does.

Plan for hot work.

Hot work or an impaired system may call for fire watch. Ask your alarm or sprinkler contractor. We supply the officer and keep the log on site.
